Tasa 790-012 — How to Pay the NIE & TIE Fee in Spain (2026)

The Tasa 790-012 is the official government fee you must pay before your NIE or TIE appointment. Here are all the 2026 prices and the exact steps to pay it correctly.

⚠️ Online payment is NOT accepted The Tasa 790-012 must be paid in person at the counter of any Spanish bank (Caixabank, Santander, BBVA, Sabadell…). Credit card payment at the bank is accepted, but online transfers and PayPal are not.

How to pay the Tasa 790-012

Fill in the form online Go to sede.policia.gob.es/Tasa790_012 ↗ and fill in your details: name, passport number, nationality, address in Spain, and the correct fee code for your document type.

Select the correct code (epígrafe) Choose code 012 for NIE/TIE. The system will pre-fill the amount based on your selection. Double-check the amount matches the table above.

Print the completed form Print the form in two copies. The bank needs both copies — one is stamped and returned to you as your receipt.

Go to any Spanish bank counter Walk into any Spanish bank branch and tell the teller you need to pay a Tasa 790-012. You do not need to have an account at that bank. They will stamp both copies after payment.

Keep your stamped receipt The bank returns one stamped copy. This is your proof of payment. Bring it to your appointment — without it, your application will be rejected.
💡 Pay before your appointment, not on the same day Some bank branches have limited opening hours. Pay the tasa 1–2 days before your appointment to avoid last-minute stress. The receipt is valid for 3 months.
