How to Book a NIE Appointment in Spain (2026)

Complete guide to getting your cita previa for White NIE (EX-15), Green NIE (EX-18) or TIE card (EX-17) — step by step.

⚡ Slots disappear in seconds Appointment slots in Barcelona and Madrid are grabbed by bots within 30 seconds of release. Check early morning (8h–9h) and refresh regularly. Join our alert service to be notified the instant a slot opens.

Step-by-step: booking your appointment

1
Go to the official booking site Visit sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es ↗ — this is the only official platform. Never pay a third party to book for you.
2
Select "Extranjería" then "Policía Nacional" Look for the section dedicated to foreign nationals. Choose the appointment type that matches your situation: NIE, EU registration or TIE card.
3
Enter your passport details Fill in your full name and passport number exactly as printed on your document. Any mismatch will cause your appointment to be rejected.
4
Choose your province and office Select your province (Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia…) then the nearest Extranjería or Policía Nacional office. Some cities have multiple offices.
5
Pick an available slot If no slots are available, try refreshing every few minutes or check back the next day. New slots are released regularly, often in the early morning.
6
Confirm and save your proof You will receive a confirmation PDF (resguardo de cita). Print it or save it on your phone — you must present it at the appointment.
💡 Pro tip: best times to find slots New slots are typically released between 8h and 9h in the morning. Set an alarm and check as soon as you wake up. Wednesday and Thursday mornings tend to have more availability.
